The Kodak Theatre in LA was the host to 82nd Academy Awards last Sunday night. It was an evening full of beautiful gowns, handbags, shoes and diamonds as the celebs attended the biggest award ceremony of the year.
Oscar night each year displays the wonderful fashions and accessories on its famous red carpet. This year was no exception and in particular the diamonds were sparkling amongst the stars who were wearing them.
It is well known that all celebrities have their favourite fashion designers and look forward to seeing what amazing creations will be tailor made for their big evening. It seems that this may also be the case when it comes to choosing the all important jewels to compliment such extravagant gowns.
This year Lorraine Schwartz seemed to be amongst one of the favourite jewellery designers and was represented by Miley Cyrus, Nicole Richie, Amanda Seyfried, Zoe Saldana and Gabourey Sidibe (nominated for best actress) only to name but a few, all wearing such exquisite pieces of jewellery by this popular designer.
Miley Cyrus wore diamond and ruby earrings accompanied by a platinum and ruby ring. Nicole Richie wore diamond stud earrings and a 110 carat blackened platinum and diamond ring. Zoe Saldana wore 20 carat diamond drop earrings set in platinum and an 80 carat amethyst ring. Gabourey Sidibe’s jewellery totalled over 180 carats, she wore a blackened platinum diamond ring, black diamond set in blackened platinum bracelets and diamond and sapphire earrings set in blackened platinum. Amanda Seyfried wore blackened platinum and diamond earrings, a coloured diamond ring and stunning 250 carat coloured diamond and platinum bracelets.
It seems that blackened platinum was a very popular choice this year for Lorraine Schwartz’s designs.
