Last Sunday night the Kodak Theatre in LA was the host to 82nd Academy Awards. The famous Red Carpet saw an array of celebs in their beautiful gowns, exquisite accessories and the finest jewellery.
Choosing the right jewels can be just as important as the dress itself and these jewellery designers play a significant role in bringing all the components together i.e. the dress, shoes and handbag to complete the final look.
Another designer, Fred Leighton, seemed to be a favourite this year for many celebs such as Meryl Streep, Carey Mulligan, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga and the ever famous fashion princess Sarah Jessica Parker.
Meryl Streep (nominated for the Best Actress) wore diamond and onyx platinum ring, Sarah Jessica Parker wore diamond and platinum bracelets, Maggie Gyllenhaal (nominated for Best Supporting Actress) wore an emerald, sapphire and diamond platinum bracelet, Carey Mulligan (Best Actress nominee) wore a diamond knot ring and diamond earrings and Vera Farmiga (Best Supporting Actress nominee) wore opal and diamond platinum clip earrings and diamond hair clips all by Fred Leighton.
It seems that these jewellery designers have the celebs in mind when selecting the pieces. A representative from Fred Leighton commented that the earrings Carey Mulligan wore to the Oscars only came into the collection a week before and were kept aside especially as they thought they would be perfect for her.
