Early Highlights of Christie’s Important Jewels & Watches sale
The world’s leading art dealer, Christie’s, holds regular auctions in the Middle-East. These oil-rich countries offer a fantastic, multi-billion pound marketplace, where auctioneers see tremendous opportunities to expand their business. Last October, Christie’s Dubai-based jewellery and watch sale brought in almost £8 million. The auctioneers are expecting no less success this year and are delighted to be show-casing the highlights of the Christie’s jewellery and watch sale, taking place in Dubai on April 20th 2011.

There will be three impressive rings on sale. The first features an 11.63 carat brilliant-cut diamond, and is valued at £43, 800 – £56, 300. The second ring offers a 10.13 carat brilliant-cut diamond, carrying an estimate of £25, 000 - £37, 500. Boasting a 5.68-carat, F-colour, VVS2-clarity rectangular diamond is the third ring, estimated at £56, 300 - £75, 000. Also in the diamond department of the auction is a fine diamond bracelet set with rectangular stones, estimated at 31,000 - 37, 500.

Among the coloured gems in the auction is a beautiful emerald and diamond crossover ring (valued at £17, 500 - £24, 000), the rectangular diamond weighing 2.30 carat, set beside a matching emerald of similar size. A stunning sapphire and diamond necklace and earring set, will be offered for £25,000-£31,000 alongside a charming aquamarine and diamond necklace, designed as a string of graduated butterflies, their wings picked out in aquamarine. On sale with a pair of matching earrings, the set carries a pre-sale estimate of £12, 500 - £19, 000.

One of the highest-priced lots of the auction will be a spectacular 8-strand graduated natural pearl necklace with an antique diamond clasp and an estimate of £150,000 - £175,000.
