Everyone remembers the movie, Titanic, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. It was immensely popular when it came out in the movie theaters. The movie capitalized on the interest that people have always had in the Titanic.
Now, the television shopping network called QVC is set to offer some jewellery inspired by the Titanic. The Titanic’s 100 year anniversary will be held on April 15th. To commemorate this anniversary, QVC will unveil its Titanic Collection April 6th at 8 p.m.
The Titanic is the ship which was declared to be unsinkable. However, it hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean. More than 1,500 people died when the ship went down. That makes this one of the deadliest maritime disasters in history that happened during peacetime.
The collection will include, not only jewellery, but also giftware, perfume, and home goods. The items in the collection’s inspiration comes from artifacts that were recovered from the ships. The jewellery in the collection will be made from sterling silver or gold, and gemstones. All of the pieces will either be an exact replica of items found on the Titanic, or they will be inspired by a passenger’s belongings.
