Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee Wax Sculpture Unveiled
There has been a new sculpture of Queen Elizabeth revealed that captures the Queen in her Diamond Jubilee. She is wearing a diamond crown, diamond earrings, and a diamond necklace, as well as other diamond jewellery. The sculpture was created for exhibition in London’s Madame Tussauds museum. Madame Tussauds’ sculptor Steve Swales said that it was difficult to capture an exact facial expression of the Queen. He said that the difficult part of a sculpture is the part in between the main features. Swales said that it was difficult for him to speak when he first met the Queen. He sat with the British Monarch at her homes in Windor and Balmoral. He said that it was quite an experience meeting the Queen and his throat just caught, even though he wasn’t expecting to be nervous. Swales had a team of 20 people who took four months to create the Queen. She is dressed in a silver and white lace dress that has more than 53,000 Swarovski crystals. The figure cost 150,000 pounds to create.
