Anniversary of Royal Oak Watches by Audemars Piguet
The May 13th sale of Antiquorium Auctioneers’ Important Modern and Vintage Timepieces will have a special collection of Audemars Piguet Royal Oaks as a way to hnor the 40th anniversary of the model. This brand of luxury Swiss watches collaborated with Antiquorium on this sale by having every timepiece sent to the manufacturer in Le Brassus so it could be checked for authenticity. After inspection, they will be delivered including an Audemars Piguet certificate stating the origin. Some of the highlights of the Audemars Piguet sale of Royal include the Royal Oak Jumbo “A Series,” produced in 1972. This is a rare water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch that is self-winding. The watch has the date and a stainless steel bracelet. The auction’s estimate is from $16,000 to $20,000. Another watch produced in the early 90s is the Royal Oak Jumbo Skeleton. Tis watch is water-resistant and tonneau shaped. It is a self-winding watch as well and it is in 18k yellow gold with Audemars Piguet bracelet. It comes with the original warranty as well as the original instruction booklet and a fitted box. The estimate for the price this watch is expected to fetch at auction is $22,000-$33,000. Either of these watches would make a good addition to some sparkling diamond jewellery like a diamond tennis bracelet.
