2023 Oscar Jewellery: Diamonds Shine Bright Yet Again at the Academy Awards

The 95th Academy Awards was once again an event to remember as the world's most celebrated stars graced the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. As one of Hollywood's biggest and most glamorous nights of the year, it is no surprise that this event plays host to some of the most extravagant outfits and, of course, some serious bling.

From dazzling diamond necklaces to exquisite earrings, bracelets and brooches with accents of coloured gemstones – the 2023 Oscar jewellery certainly did not disappoint!

Let's take a closer look at some of the jaw-dropping jewellery that graced this year's red carpet.

The Most Extravagant Jewellery On The 2023 Oscars Red Carpet

Michelle Yeoh proved to be one of the standout stars of the night, winning Best Actress for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once. Michelle wore a spectacular diamond necklace headband, diamond drop earrings and a pear-shaped diamond ring.

Fashion icon and Best Actress in a Leading Role nominee, Ana De Armas, wowed the crowd wearing a stunning Louis Vuitton dress paired with diamond bangles designed by Francesca Amfitheatrof and a dazzling diamond ring.

Poker face hit musician and actress Lady Gaga made a glamorous entrance, donning an elegant black gown with sheer details and an intricate mix of platinum diamonds from Tiffany & Co. She opted for a vintage collar necklace, diamond stud earrings, a diamond cluster bracelet in platinum and an etoile five-row diamond ring. The epitome of classic Hollywood glamour!

Emily Blunt stunned the crowd with a pair of chandelier pink pear-shaped sapphire earrings by Chopard, while Cara Delvingne was the queen of diamonds opting for a Bulgari Serpenti necklace featuring an eye-watering 64 carats of diamonds, a Bulgari white gold bracelet and earrings complete with an exquisite diamond emerald ring.

But This Year's Event Proved To Show That Diamonds Aren't Just A Girl's Best Friend

While the ladies dominated the red carpet with their dazzling diamond jewellery, the gentlemen certainly had plenty of impressive diamonds on show too. Brendan Fraser, the evening's Best Actor for his role in The Whale, wore an Art Deco platinum, sapphire, and diamond brooch.

American actor, producer and director Michael B. Jordan lit up the red carpet with a dazzling double showstopper, donning two extraordinary Tiffany and Co. Schlumberger 'Bird on a Rock' brooches crafted in platinum, 18-carat yellow gold, diamonds and a pink sapphire for the bird's eye.

Best Supporting Actor winner Ke Huy Quan kept it simple with a black flower brooch designed by Fred Leighton and a smaller diamond-shaped brooch.

The Allure of Diamonds at Award Ceremonies

Diamonds are the epitome of luxury, glamour and prestige. From royalty to celebrities, diamonds have been a symbol of opulence, luxury and status since the earliest award ceremonies. The Oscars are no exception. We've seen some truly legendary pieces that will go down in history as some of the most exquisite and stunning diamond jewellery ever worn at an awards ceremony.

Let's not forget Material Girl pop icon Madonna, who attended the Oscars in 1991 hand in hand with King of Pop Michael Jackson as her date. She channelled an old Hollywood strapless gown in tribute to the late Marilyn Monroe and wore a staggering 20 million dollars worth of Harry Winston jewels, including a diamond necklace and earrings.

At the 1998 Academy Awards, Gloria Stuart shined like a diamond when she arrived wearing a dazzling 15-carat Harry Winston necklace with an exquisite blue sapphire. This necklace, fictional known as "The Heart of the Ocean", was inspired by her own iconic role in the film Titanic.

There's no doubt that diamonds will continue to be a staple of the red carpet for many years to come. From dazzling chandelier earrings to exquisite diamond-encrusted necklaces, celebrities continue to surprise us with their stunning selections – creating unforgettable diamond jewellery moments we won't ever forget!
