History of Men’s Bracelets

The history of men’s bracelets can be traced as far back as times from the bible. Rings as well as bracelets were used as symbols of affection and love going back to the Biblical times. Also in the Bible, certain jewellery pieces like bracelets were used to pay for services done during those times.

For men bracelets became very popular during the 1950s and 1960s in the United States as ID bracelets were commonly used. It was first made popular by teenagers but soon adult men become interested in them as well. This fad only lasted as long as the early 1970s when the ID bracelet simply begin to disappear, and it was not until the 1990s that things began to pick up again with the popularity of bracelets.

The culture for men’s bracelets became popular again as bracelets imported from other countries like Italy became popular throughout the world. The Italians were able to make bracelets that were both artistically favorable for the times as well as introduce a variety of different cuts and styles that made bracelets very popular among men again.

Bracelets were commonly worn on a daily basis and would often be purchased as gifts from wives and girlfriends. They were popular during holidays like Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and also for gifts on Birthdays as well. In fact, it is often said that because of the creative way that Italian jewellery like chains and bracelets were designed in the early 1990s, men’s fashion jewellery became popular again.

Men’s bracelets are available in a variety of different types of metals like stainless steel, carbon fiber, silver, gold, platinum, and titanium. Gold, however, is the most popular choice. You will also find many different types of precious gemstones set into bracelets but two very common ones will be diamonds and garnets.

As for the gold you will find a lot of different grades of both white gold and yellow gold used ranging from 10 carat, 14 carat, 18 carat, and even some very rare bracelets in 24 carat gold.

The overall creativity for bracelets has really increased over the past several years. Now you will find materials like rubber become popular in bracelet designs making them more affordable and durable.

Stainless steel bracelets have grown because of the ability to polish them so finely that they give off the same reflections that white gold or silver itself would display. You will find that many high fashion diamond jewellery designers are now making sure that they include a collection of men’s bracelets in their jewellery showcase to make sure that they don’t miss out on the opportunity for a sale.
